The Elite Schools League started from a plain observation: keep young people playing together and they stay active, stay connected to school, and have a reason to show up on the days that matter.

It is a schools competition, but the competition is the method rather than the point. Teams train, travel, play fixtures against other schools and learn the small disciplines that sport teaches better than any lecture — turning up on time, doing your part, losing without excuses.

Why schools, not clubs

Schools reach the children who are hardest to reach. A league organised through schools means coaches, fixtures and safeguarding sit inside a structure parents already trust, and it keeps the door open to pupils who would never walk into a sports club on their own.

For us it also connects to the wider work: healthier children learn better, and a calendar of fixtures gives communities something to organise around through the term.

Match photography and league results live on the project page, and this is where longer write-ups — season summaries, school profiles, what the money paid for — will go once they are ready.
