Our Story

Chibsah Foundation was established in 2009 as a nonprofit subsidiary of YAC Group, born from a deep conviction that access to essential resources is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to create sustainable change in underserved communities across Ghana.

What started as modest community outreach initiatives has grown into a comprehensive organization impacting thousands of lives through healthcare programs, clean water projects, and educational support.

Today, we stand as a beacon of hope for countless families, working tirelessly to bridge the gap between need and opportunity. Our foundation operates on the principle that empowered communities create their own sustainable futures.

Founder & Chairman

From Football Legend to Humanitarian Leader

From the classrooms of Prempeh College to the stadium lights of Europe, Yussif Alhassan Chibsah's journey is one of discipline, resilience, and vision. Born in Accra in 1983, Yussif discovered early on that football was more than a game. It was a platform for leadership and service. His determination carried him from Ghana's local pitches to the international stage, where he became a respected midfielder for the Black Stars and captain of Asante Kotoko.

"Football gave me discipline, but education gave me purpose. I want to give both to the next generation."
— Yussif Alhassan Chibsah

A Career Across Continents

Yussif's talent opened doors far beyond Ghana. After excelling at home, he moved to Europe, where he played in Sweden's Allsvenskan league for clubs such as Gefle IF and Djurgårdens IF, making over 100 appearances. He also featured for GAIS and Ljungskile SK and had a spell in Türkiye with Alanyaspor. Each chapter of his career sharpened his skills, broadened his worldview, and deepened his belief that success must be paired with responsibility.

Education as Empowerment

Even at the height of his football career, Yussif never lost sight of education. After retiring from professional play, he pursued higher learning, earning a Master's degree in International Sports Law from ISDE Law Business School in Spain. For him, football taught discipline, but education unlocked purpose. This conviction fuels his mission to ensure that young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, have access to quality learning, mentorship, and opportunities to dream beyond their circumstances.
